Join us for a 2-day horsemanship/obstacle clinic in the beautiful setting at Leatherwood Mountains Resort!

Leatherwood Mountains Premier Equine Facility is a wonderful destination horseback riding vacation for you and your horses. There are over 75 miles of beautiful NC trails to explore that consist of long woodsy paths along beautiful ridges, old logging roads, lots of creek crossings and minimal to long climbs and descents. The trails are safe, well-marked, and mapped. When you and your equine companion visit the heart of “Horse Country” you may never want to leave!

Guests have access to riding arena, round pen and 4 sand paddocks. The barn has a community tack room, bathrooms, a shower and an inside wash pit with hot and cold water, an outside wash pit has cold water and there are several hitching rails near tack room.

  • All levels of riders are welcome.

  • Covered Arena & Outdoor Arena

  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times - no loose dogs allowed on trails.

  • Negative Coggins Required

  • Please bring a bagged lunch or boxed lunch (3 different choices)add-on available. ($12)

Clinic Fees

  • Participant Fee: $400 (paid to RPH)
    *A $125 deposit is required at registration to secure your spot.

  • Facility Fee: $20 (paid to facility)

  • Stalls are available for $25 per night, please call 336-973-5044 to reserve a stall. Bring your hay/feed for your horses. We have inside 12x12 stalls and open-air covered 10x12 stalls available. Additional bedding can be purchased for $9 per bag.

  • Camping - $25 per night - please call 336-973-5044 to reserve a campsite. We have 5 hook-up camping sites. The sites at the trail barn are ONLY 20 amp breaker sites. You also must bring at least 100′ of drop cord & water hose with you when you camp here as all the hookups are from 1 panel location.

  • Audit Fee: $25 per day

Clinic FAQ’s

  • A participant will receive a full refund if cancellation is expressed 30 days prior to the said clinic (minus the non-refundable deposit).

    If a cancellation is received after the 30-day timeline, a refund will be refunded minus 25% of the balance owed, but not to include the non-refundable deposit.

    If a cancellation is received 7 days prior to the clinic, no money will be refunded.

  • A non-refundable deposit is due upon registration in order to secure your spot. The remaining clinic fee will be due 30 days prior to the clinic date.
